Boys will be boys...

Can anyone guess which item was NOT brought in the car for our trip to preschool this morning....

1. Soccer ball
2. Small branch with leaves
3. T-ball stand
4. Cell phone
5. Rollie-pollie bug

Comment with answer, and let's see who can be the first winner!!

Jayce

Jayce is our resident goofball.  He makes us laugh all the time!!  His teachers have always told me how quiet he is in class, but I think he's starting to open up a little more at school.  He definitely is the most energetic at our house.  Some recent funny moments and comments.....

Jayce is by far our pickiest eater, but will eat anything sweet or sugary.

"I'm hungry. My belly's hungry for 2 snowcones!"  while at Jaeden's Tball game.

He's rarely hungry, but if he is, he tells me "I'm only hungry for chocolate." or "I'm hungry for a cookie." He's always sure to clarify what he's hungry for. :)

We talked about getting ice cream after Jaeden's game on Friday, and he kept telling us we should go to Junie and Papa's.  We kept telling him they were out of town.  He finally told me, "I promise you they have ice cream in their freezer, I promise!"

The boys learned awhile ago that the Bishop was going to have an ice cream party for the primary kids that passed off all 13 articles of faith (which they both know now).  Jayce told us, if they don't have chocolate ice cream, then we can just go to Junie and Papa's to get ice cream and then go back to the Bishop's.  He doesn't even realize the Bishop lives around the corner from my parent's.

I guess you can see, according to Jayce, Junie and Papa have the BEST ice cream!!

Jayce is starting to show his true competitiveness... He's is NOT happy if he's not winning a game and usually will cry or give up!

Jayce has been very excited about turning 4 for at least the last 5 months!!!! And he still has one more month to go!!  He knows he'll be able to play sports when he's 4.  He's been praying for months "I'm thankful for turning 4"  The funny thing is he insists he's 3 and hates if we say 3 1/2.  He tells Jaeden frequently "NO, I'm 3, NOT 3 1/2"  Last week, I told him he had one month til he was 4. He replied, "Then, I'll be almost 5"

Jayce scaling the wall, well, actually the bookcase, but it looks cool!

Jaeden

Since I did a post on Jax Jax I thought I'd put together some of the others recent saying and doings. In a nutshell, Jaeden is smart, very imaginative, outspoken and impatient.

You know a kid's impatient when...

1. He tells you he no longer likes lollipops because "They take too long" (to eat)

2. If we mention the word surprise, he asks every 5 minutes what the surprise is whether he's having to wait 3 hours, 1 day or longer. He simply doesn't want to take "no" or "you have to wait" for an answer.

3. Most of his sentences end with "NOW!!"  Yes we're working on that behavior, one day he'll understand, right?

His imagination though is endless. He obviously gets that from his dad and not me.  Joel didn't just have an imaginary friend, he had a whole imaginary baseball team he played with as a kid.  Surprisingly Jaeden never had an imaginary friend.  Jaeden loves to pretend to be other people! He spends most of his day pretending to be someone else.

Jaeden created his own car game - Imaginary Peter Pan Go Fish. Yes, Jaeden and Jayce go back and forth asking each other for different cards (Hook, Tinkerbell, Peter Pan, cannon, plank, ship, etc) and randomly decide if the other needs to 'Go Fish'. It's pretty comical!

Jaeden painted his own Anakin scar.

I don't remember why he insisted I take a pic of him with his animals.

Jax Jax

Jaxon fits right in with his big brothers. He says a few words (finally!!) but is very knowledgeable of lightsaber sounds, sword swishes and toy gun noises.  It's amazing he's still in one piece since he's usually standing in the middle of Jaeden and Jayce swinging whichever of the above. At his 15 month visit he was 33 inches (yes, our monster), the doctor said if he continued at this rate he would be 6'4" - I guess we'll have to wait and see :) Yes, that was 2 months ago, and I need to schedule his upcoming 18 month check-up.

2 months ago Jaxon could be found doing this.......

Yes, turning on and off the light switch...ALOT!!

And now he's doing this.....

This is how we enjoyed General Conference (that you can hear in the background). It was the first we've heard in 5 years, or so it seemed!

He frequently makes it by landing on his belly without his feet touching the ground.  Jayce was more of daredevil when it came to jumping at this age, but Jax is right behind him :)

Backyard fun!!!

Spring has been great around here - nice and warm, but not HOT, which we know is just around the corner.  The boys enjoyed their first outdoor water play of the season.  The water was a little cold, but they insisted!!!  We had been to the grocery store earlier that day, which is rare for Jaeden and Jayce to come with me, and Jayce insisted we buy a watermelon - one of his favorite things!!!!

This is what they left!  I couldn't believe how much Jaeden and Jayce ate - almost half. Jax still won't touch it, eventhough he loved it last year.

The boys also love watching the lizards around here.  We can't leave our house without seeing 1 (or 5). They're everywhere.  Jaeden loves trying to catch them. He has a few times; usually I tell him not to get it right before he grabs it.  One afternoon I looked out our back door and saw this...

Jaeden and Jayce enjoyed watcing the lizard try to eat the bug before he scurried off.
