Jaeden's playing Soccer

Jaeden is so excited about playing Soccer! His games start in 2 weeks, but he can't wait.  He's been practicing almost every night in the living room of course!  Last night Joel took him to get a ball and shin guards that he will need.  He was so proud to have his new soccer toys!!
Jayce was just as excited, and since he didn't get to pick out a ball, as our resident goof ball he found his own toy!

Yes that's the box the soccer ball came in.
He was walking around saying "hello, hello" in his crazy, goofy voice.

Jaxon's 5 months

Well, he's almost 5.5 months, but I'm finally getting around to blogging.  Jaxon is still not rolling, except the occasional belly to back.  He's just like his brothers.  He is a lot like Jaeden in that he's always trying to sit up, esp when in his car seat. He rides in the car with his head and shoulders up, instead of just relaxing and lying back.  Jaeden's the only baby that I've ever seen do sit ups. When he was around 7 months, he would just sit straight up when we laid him down on the floor or in his crib.  He much preferred sit ups v. rolling over and then pushing to sit.  Jaxon is like Jayce in that he's starting early to inch across the floor. He's not crawling yet, but he does move forward and in circles when on his belly.
Jaxon loves to laugh and smile. His laugh is so sweet. He loves laughing at Jaeden and Jayce when they are being goofy. Or he laughs when be tickled. One of his favorite places is on the changing table. I'm not sure why, but he's instant grins and laughs when we put him there.
He's always chomping those fingers!!

Our lazy afternoon...

Since it rained all morning, they couldn't go outside to play, so I occupied their time with painting....

They use the paper some, but love to paint their hands and bodies.  It's somewhat messy, but the only activity they will sit and do for almost an hour!!
Too young for painting, but enjoys chomping his fingers!!

Free Sandbox!!!

So about 2 weeks ago, the electric company dropped off a new electric pole that was to replace the old one in our backyard.  The boys enjoyed using it as a bench. Then after all that time waiting to see when they were going to come back, they come shortly before leaving for preschool, which made it even harder to get them out the door!!  What little boy doesn't want to watch a big machine dig a hole in their own backyard?? Unfortunately, they pretty much missed everything, as they were gone when we arrived back home from school.

But the good news....a free sandbox!!! All that recently dug up dirt and a new pole...all they needed where shovels and hammers and instant fun!! They were outside the next morning at 7:45am - which never happens around here!!

Maybe we won't have to buy more sand for their sandbox afterall!!

Western Day!!

In these parts of the country, everyone has a Go Texan Day!! (Mar 2 - texas independence day) or a Western day to celebrate the start of the Houston Rodeo!!!  Last week the boys got to dress western style for preschool. They even enjoyed some barrel races while riding stick horses.  Jayce was a natural, and the only one that galloped.  That Christmas horse from Grandma Junie has obviously had lots of use!!

Jaeden was not interested in taking pics before school!!

Jayce was more than willing, but would not put down his new St. Patrick's rubber ducky!!

Jax was also dressed for the occasion!

My favorite pic, Jayce with what I think is Papa Herman Mittelstaedt's hat.

One guess for: where's the TV??

3 boys + 1 photographer =  NO GOOD PICS

Thoughts from a 4 year old going on ???

As probably mentioned in the past, Jaeden's language has always amazed us.  He was saying at least 40-50 words at 12 months and sentences shortly there after.  And those who see him frequently know that he never stops talking, EVER!!!  I don't know where he comes up with half of his thoughts, but he's clearly always thinking, and thinking, and of course, wanting to control ALL.  Hopefully, I can condense some of these stories on Jaeden....

Joel's been having weekly father/son talks individually with the boys each Sunday (kind of early PPI's).  Of course the boys have loved them, and each week Joel gives them something to work on (behavior?!?!?)
Well, the last 2 weeks, Jaeden's decided to hold his own meetings with Me and Jayce...2 weeks ago, I was instructed by Jaeden to work on "Not throwing away 'kid papers' and only throwing away grown up papers" other things were also mentioned, but this one made me laugh the most.  I do keep and hang lots of their preschool papers, but definitely not all.  For some reason, they only look in the trash when their papers are on top, and of course they get pulled out - I can never get rid of anything!!!
Jayce was instructed during his meeting to always listen and do whatever Mommy, Daddy or Jaeden tells him!  (yes, he's our little dictator)

While riding in the car, Jaeden blurts out, "I don't know who I'm going to marry?"  I told him that's ok, you don't need to know.  Jayce followed with "I don't want to get married!"

Jaeden's recently decided that when he grows up, "I'm going to be a doctor only for girls"  Yes, he's 4 and loves girls!!

On the way home from church last week..."Kate likes me, I like Kate, if girls love me, then I love them. That's how it goes." (yes, that's direct line from Jaeden)

Can you see the trend, with him and girls?!?!

Lastly, we were discussing laws and explaining laws of the land v. Heavenly Father's laws. Somehow it was mentioned by me that he will have to follow our rules until he's 18.  Jaeden thought this was the worst thing he's ever heard.  After a short, silent deliberation in his head, he told us, I'll move out when I'm 12. 12 is a good age. We further explained the laws and he told us, he was going to write it on a piece of paper and give it out, so everyone knows you can leave when your 12.  He was very adament in writing his new law!!  (he doesn't read or write yet)  future doctor??  or politician???
