Twas the night before Christmas...

We enjoyed are usual Christmas Eve events this year...  Junie and Papa came over again to help us act out Luke 2, Matthew 2...the story of Jesus' birth.  We had discussed it earlier in the day, so the boys could pick out their parts.  Jayce wanted to be Joseph, and he wanted me to be Mary.  Jaeden decided to be a shepard, although he really wanted to be Jesus - but that went to Jaxon "babe on the move" NOT "babe, wrapped in swaddling clothes".  Jaeden picked out the stuffed sheep animal for his prop, and Jayce picked out a frog.  He informed us that Joseph rode to Bethlehem on a frog, and Mary walked. He enjoyed hopping on the frog through the living room. It's a good thing he wasn't the real Joseph!!  Junie played a wonderful angel, and Jaeden, Papa and Dad were wonderful wiseman!!

Unfortunately, it's been raining most of the evening, and it's maybe the 3rd day it's rained in the last 3 months!! Anyways, the boys still made it outside to feed the reindeer, which they love to do!!

We set out a plate of cookies, and Dad asked if we should leave eggnog or milk for Santa.  Jaeden (who likes eggnog) said "Definitely milk, because Santa might puke on eggnog, and then we'd have Santa's puke here in the morning.  He would go, Ho! Ho! Blaaaahhh"

I guess that's just typical life with little boys!!! We also said good-bye to Rudolph Blitzen, our 'Elf on the Shelf' that they've loved the last few weeks.

Our Christmas tree in the end.  Joel and I only put silver and purple balls on the tree.  It's hard to see our decorations with all the pre-school artwork and such added to the tree over the last month.

Merry Christmas!!!

Funny Stuff

Tonight we had our usual family home evening. We discussed the 8th Article of Faith, both boys cans say the first 6 very well!  Joel then began telling the basic story of Jesus' birth. Mr. Know It All, aka Jaeden, was answering all the questions before they were asked. When Joel mentioned the 3 wisemen, Jaeden proceeded to tell us they brought gifts of gold, frankensteins, and myrrh.  We couldn't help but laugh.  I never knew frankenstein was that old!!

Happy Thanksgiving

The boys had their Thanksgiving Feast at school today and sang Turkey songs for the parents, including the Turkey dance, aka the Chicken Dance. The boys both did a great job and sang most of the words.  Jax and I sat on the front row, and Jaxon found Jaeden after the first song and pointed to him and tried to get to him the rest of the time.  Jax was so excited to see his big brother. I of course forgot my camera, but probably would not have been able to take pictures while wrestling Jaxon anyways.  So I fortunately got a few when we got home and included their recent school work. They both made turkeys and had written what they are thankful for...

Jaeden's class wore Indian hats.  He's thankful for school, mommy, everything, house and daddy. Last year his turkey included orange juice, which he still NEVER drinks and gum.

Jayce is wearing his pilgrim hat. Jayce finally cooperated, although it wasn't easy trying to balance on the bench sideways with no hands!!  He's thankful for mommy, junie, grandpa, my bed and daddy.  The bed is funny, but his three favorite excuses heard daily are "I need to take a nap", "My belly hurts" or "I'm tired of walking"  They are all used to avoid work, and he's only 3!!!

Jaxon wasn't interested in showing his face. He's are own special Turkey!!

Random Funny Sayings and Doings....

Jaeden is always saying what he's going to be when he grows up, and it changes every hour.  Jayce continues to say he's going to be Darth Vader when he grows up, and that never changes.  Once while riding in the car, Joel asked Jayce if he was going to be Darth Vader when he grew up, and Jayce responded with "You got it Daddy!"  It was very funny.

The other day Jayce showed me his pjs with a little penguin on them, and said since it was my favorite animal, that he would give them to me when I was 2 or 3.  (Since that is when they would fit me of course!)

Jaxon understands soooo much, but still says little.  Once while sitting on the couch, we told the older boys it was time for scriptures, which of course they ignored, but Jaxon immediately got off my lap and went to the shelf with the scriptures.  I guess he'll be the example for the older two!!

If I ask Jax, if he wants milk, he instantly heads for the fridge.  Tonight we asked him if he was hungry, and he went to his highchair and tried to get in.  He's not talking, but can clearly tell us what he needs.

Jayce is starting to learn his articles of faith and can now say the first 5.  I still don't believe that Jaeden was saying all 13 when he turned 3, and he still knows most with minimal prompting.

We asked Jayce who is favorite Star Wars character was, and he said "The ones that die"

They have both been obsessed with Tom & Jerry since seeing the cartoon in the hotel while in DC.  They love to play Tom & Jerry together.  It has taken over, and replaced Dora.  Jaeden decided he was too old for Dora a few months ago, and this has taken it's place and stopped the morning fights about what to watch!

A random sweet moment, Jaeden was giving Jaxon a ride.  I have no idea what they were looking at, Jaxon pointed at something and Jaeden just copied him.

Happy Halloween!!

The boys had a blast trick or treating and trunk or treating!  I was horrible taking pictures and have waited to gather some from others so I could blog about halloween.  We had the church trunk-or-treat Saturday night, and the boys only hit half the trunks before getting tired.  I never thought Jayce would give up when candy was the goal.  I was shocked that Jaxon stayed dressed up all night.  Halloween night we went through my parent's neighborhood, and they had fun ringing the doorbells...

 Sweet Baby Yoda

Jayce loves his Darth Vader helmet, and it's much easier to wear than the mask.  The helmet came from Jaeden's Darth Vader pinata at his party.
For any additional pictures, you can see Jaeden's birthday party.  He was Obi Wan Kenobi, and Joel and I dressed up for truck-or-treat but not on Halloween.

Jaxon had a great 1st birthday, although he didn't eat any cake!

Thank goodness for big brothers who love to open presents!!

Jaeden's 5th Birthday 9-29-10

For those that follow my blog, you must know by now that it's definitely NOT chronological.  My goal was to blog their birthday's in order, which is why Jayce's was posted recently, so I could add these next two birthdays... (I would have his other two birthdays, but I'm still trying to consolidate all pics onto one computer, and his first two years aren't on this computer yet.)
 Jaeden's 3rd birthday
 Jaeden's 4th birthday
Jaeden's 5th birthday

The boys love Star Wars, and discuss it nonstop!!!  They were both excited about the party, and everyone came dressed as their favorite character...The boys played several games, conquered a Jedi training course, and did countless Light-saber battles.  Overall, it was a blast.  Besides the R2D2 cake, they enjoyed light saber pretzels and Yoda Soda (sprite and lime sherbert).
Obi Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader
 Princess Leia and the boys
Jaeden on the Jedi training course
Darth Maul stopped by for a battle
Jaxon woke up for the 2nd half of the party and joined in as General Grievous
Jaeden got several star wars guns for his birthday and dressed up as a Storm Trooper.

May 2010

After we got back from San Diego, Jorgy and G came to visit.

Jayce with a real cake. He picked out all the candles - from previous bdays - firetrucks, pirates, and the #1.

 The boys with their Grandpas.

Jayce and G, while opening gifts.

New dress-up clothes from Grandma Junie.  The boys love dressing up, but we hate that they call their dress-up clothes "dresses."  In a house with 3 boys, there are very few dresses.  They don't seem to hear the difference between dress and dress-up!!

Jayce's 3rd bday 5-14-10

We celebrated Jayce's 3rd birthday while in San Diego.  We went to IHOP for breakfast, and Jayce loved being sung to by the waiters, and of course the free ice cream for breakfast was also a hit!!  Jaeden keeps asking when we're going back to San Diego, and recently he asked Jayce if he wanted to celebrate every birthday in San Diego, which Jayce said "Yes!"  What fun it would be if we could celebrate every birthday in San Diego.  Jayce has always been Mr. Independent; thankfully he was second or we'd still be doing everything for Jaeden.  Jaeden didn't want to do anything for himself until he saw his little brother doing things without help - getting dressed, eating, etc.

This is how Jayce frequently looked after getting himself dressed - all backwards.  He's improved greatly in the last 5 months!!

Jayce picked all the activities on his birthday - We of course started with LegoLand...
Shooting water guns...
Jousting, made of Legos, and of course the ride...
Couldn't forget a favorite ride, with the grumpy old troll from 3 Billy Goats Gruff...His favorite book..

And driving a boat, before we headed to the beach.
We only went to the beach once while there, but I thought it was rather cold.  (Jaeden with his splint)

Jayce freezing after getting his feet a little wet, as seen above I was too cold to be in just my swimsuit.
Jayce's yummy birthday cake!!
And the day ended with presents, still some of their favorite - StarWars lego minifigures.

SeaWorld San Diego

The boys loved, loved, loved SeaWorld, but not has much as LegoLand.  They enjoyed seeing some of their favorite animals.

Our first stop was the dolphins. Unfortunately, there wasn't a dolphin show when we were there :(
Daddy and the boys at the sting ray pond.
Waiting to see Shamu and friends!
Jaeden and Jayce still talk about Shamu.  All killer whales are Shamu according to Jaeden. We sat at the top of the splash zone and got a little wet. Jayce did NOT like getting splashed!!  But I think he got a little salt water in his mouth??
Our usual mode of travel, in front of the flamingos.
Jayce's favorite animal is the sea lion, and he was so excited to feed them some fish.  They both used the feeders as well as threw fish over. Jayce was hilarious because when he threw his fish over the sea lion dove into the water to get it.  Jayce thought he killed the sea lion, and kept talking about killing the sea lion.  We just laughed as usual.
Jaeden throwing his fish, the sea lion actually caught it!! (and didn't die in the water :))
They had a large play area the boys loved!!  They ran forever on these bridges.
Sweet Jaxon - 6 months, and he's now about to celebrate his 1st birthday!!
The comical Sea Lion show. Jayce's favorite, and where our camera took it's final picture!

Unfortunately, the day ended with Jaeden falling off of something while playing in the kid area and breaking his left arm. When he fell he screamed, "I broke my arm."  Fortunately, it was a minimal break, and we were able to find someone the next  morning to splint his arm, so we could enjoy the rest of our vacation!
