Aunt Christy's visit

Jaeden was so excited to have another Utah visitor!! If he had it his way, he would keep Aunt Christy to himself, but he does share her with Jayce every once in awhile.  The boys love just having someone to join their crazy games, which Aunt Christy does so willingly.  It was a short visit, but we packed everything in on Friday - the zoo, children's museum and dinner at Lupe's.  Unfortunately, the camera wasn't packed, but we had a blast.  At the zoo, we went into the reptile house, which is not part of our regular zoo walk.  I'm not sure if they've actually been in it before.  I don't think that area has changed much since I was a kid, and it was always my favorite part of the zoo.  Although someone mentioned that there was a space in one of the snake cages (btw the frame and glass door to open the cage from the front).   Well after seeing that, Jaeden was ready to leave ASAP! Otherwise they really liked seeing the snakes, lizards and frogs.  The boys, daddy and christy also went to the petting zoo (which is really only goats) but petting goats sounds funny.  Anyways, they had fun, especially since one of their favorite books of late is "the 3 billy goats gruff"
After the zoo, we ate a quick lunch in the car before spending a few hours at the museum (which is less than 5 mins from the zoo).  Since the weather was at least 75* that day, they were able to enjoy the outside water tables, and they did leave fairly wet. The last event at the museum was face painting/drawing.  They have a table with 'crayons' to paint your face and a mirror at the table, and the boys were thrilled to paint their faces. At home lately, when painting, they've decided paint brushes are too much trouble, and have resorted to finger painting, and paper's not necessary either because they have hands, arms, and chests to paint.  (the rule at home is no paint on the face). Which may explain the excessive 'paint' on their faces when leaving the museum.
I really despise the lighting in our living room, cuz it's impossible to get good pics, but this is the best of Jayce. Jaeden's pics are in the previous post. Also, Jayce had just awoken when taken out of the car.

How old is Jaeden???

Last night we went to Lupe Tortillas (a local mexican restaurant), it's become one of our favs because they have a large sand box with a slide and toys to play with outside; therefore, the boys have a blast while we actually enjoy a meal since we sit outside.  Although at our last visit just before xmas, Jayce wandered into the kitchenm but that's another story.  Anyways, last night the sandbox was pretty crowded, which made Jaeden excited because he LOVES making new friends.  Anywhere we go, mcdonalds, the mall play area, parks, he's always searching for new friends to play with.  Last night, he somehow started talking with these two girls and one of their brothers. The girls were nine, Jaeden later told us. (I had assumed they were 8 or 9).  Who knows what they talked about for quite awhile.  Jaeden told us later they talked about marriage, boyfriends and girlfriends. Jaeden was so excited about his new friends, he came to the table and asked Jayce to come meet his new friends; it was pretty cute.
The funniest part of the story is what we found out in the car.  After Jaeden told me, Sophia was 9, I asked him what he told her.  Jaeden laughed, saying he told her, he was in Kindergarten.  Joel and I were cracking up.  (He doesn't even start kindergarten til 2011 - a year and a half from now) From further conversation, the girl had asked him what grade he was in, so he "logically??" replied Kindergarten.  We could tell Jaeden thought he was pretty smart coming up with that little lie.  He's only 4 and already lying to the girls.
Even stranger... this is how he looked, Jayce and Jaeden had a blast painting their faces at the children's museum a couple hours before we went to dinner.  Jaeden really wanted to leave the paint on for 3 days he told us, but I said he couldn't sleep with it on, so it was washed off in the bath that night.

If trying to understand it, he said it was a bat (across his forehead) and below was the bat cave.

Still Catching up...

On my list of things I've been meaning to blog about....  I last left off with our trip(s) to Utah, but only actually talked about the one last Nov (2008). I never actually posted about Christmas 2008, but I guess it's been officially skipped since we've already celebrated Christmas 2009.  There's still several 2009 happenings, I've been trying to post.  So I guess I'll start at the beginning... our last Utah trip in May-June 09.

We went to Utah for Aunt Mandy and Uncle Drew's wedding, which was lots of fun! We also had our first camping trip that week, and celebrated Jayce's 2nd birthday.  We always try to do lots of things on our visits to Utah.
On our way home, Jaeden said his favorite part was the wedding.  For some strange reason, he really likes wedding dresses, although it may help that his favorite color is still WHITE?!?!

Jaeden hiking on the trail by our campsite.

Jayce walking on a trail.

There favorite trail, which they usually slid down.

Sitting with Jorgy by the campfire.

Helping Aunt Christy with her tent. Jaeden slept with her in the tent the first night, and in the camper the second night.

Jaeden, Jayce (red hat), and cousin Bode (khaki hat). Boys being boys - playing in the dirt and throwing rocks in the lake.

Jaeden - his first time fishing with daddy.

They caught the first fish!!
He touched it, but would not think of eating it (of course once cooked).

Wow, Jaxon's 3 months!!!!

I can't believe he's already 3 months!! He's definitely getting bigger, smiling lots and starting to roll a little. He rolls from his belly to back only to the right.  He hasn't lost any hair, and it keeps growing.  I have to restrain myself from cutting it. These pics are from the past week...

Jaxon was fussing after I propped him on the couch.  Jayce ran by and gave him an animal to look at, and Jaxon had lots of fun smiling and talking with 'CatCat'

The boys love to play with Jaxon when he's on the floor. Jayce really isn't as bored as he looks.

This is the second time I've caught Jaxon with his arms up.
This is how Jayce slept every time his first 2 years.

Not sure what he's looking at, but most likely the TV. He can push up a little more than this when he wants.
Just look how long his hair is!!

Go Buckeyes!!!!

It was soooo great to finally win another Bowl Game!!!!

This is how we all felt......

This was taken the following morning while playing in the big pile of leaves daddy made! Unfortunately, the hug was not due to the buckeyes winning.

Jayce at 2 1/2, cannot read, but easily recognizes all things ohio state. When he opened one of my christmas presents and new ohio state robe, he instantly said, "Ohio State" I thought it was funny!

Time Out in Heaven?!?!?

Tonight's family home evening we discussed temples and eternal families. Somewhere in the discussion Jaeden said, "Probably, if you say 'poopie' in Heaven, you'll be in time out for 2 or 3 days."

Jayce is our little potty mouth, and everything is 'poopie'. We've been trying to minimize the use of the word, which is how Jaeden's comment came about.

Happy New Year to all and Go Buckeyes!!

We had a wonderful New Year's Lunch at my parents, and are now home to cheer on the buckeyes!! I'm hoping we're starting the year with everyone healthy - as this past week we've had a home full of sick boys.
